The rising sun lit the grassed plains, dustclouds creating a gold curtain of pure light obscuring the distant hills. Staring into the aura was more than merely painful and even as the turret whined beneath him the commander lowered his optics and rubbed his eyes. ‘Where are they?’ Almost as if summoned thunder rumbled from the golden fog as something, something huge stepped forward. ‘Mother of us all…” Dying began.

The lone human stands, unarmed, unafraid, the alien smile on his face warmly speaking of friendship. The leader leaned forward and spoke, soft voice hissing. “We thank you for your aid sky warrior and that of your people, the war is over and our world is peaceful once again. Now you will continue your star journey will you not?” The Humans smile widened. “Not at all my friend, you misunderstand.” The doors slam open.
